The results for our “what’s the best antivirus for Windows” poll are in. We are thankful to all those who took part in this latest antivirus 2012 poll. And with information gathered, we are able to provide you with a better service.

95 people took part and these are the results:

So the clear winner is Kaspersky antivirus 2012. We were expecting BitDefender to take first place because of its effectiveness and award-winning software. However, these results aren’t totally surprising because Kaspersky too has a very effective scanning engine that is used by over 120 companies in their products around the world.

Third-place goes to Norton AntiVirus 2012 which has improved over the last few years and has released a better antivirus program. Many of the problems that plagued it in the past have largely disappeared and this is one of the reasons it is still in the top five list of antivirus software programs for Windows.

Another impressive security product is AVG Antivirus which is the fourth best in the poll.

Our Internet Security 2012 poll for “what’s the best Internet security?” is now closed and we have the results. Thank you to all who took part and we would be pleased if you checked out our other polls too. Your participation helps us to tailor our services to your needs.

108 people took part in this poll and the results are:

We were surprised to see BitDefender take third place behind Kaspersky and Norton Internet Security. And that’s because BitDefender has the best Internet security software in effectiveness and total protection from malicious software. It has passed all lab tests with the leading test labs like Virus Bulletin and AV-Test.

Norton was actually fifth in tests; well behind Kaspersky and BitDefender.

Another surprise in this poll is McAfee that took fourth place ahead of Panda and Avira, when in tests it has lagged behind in malware tests.

Anti-spam                 -  34 votes

Internet security takes first place once again. That’s not surprising considering the level of protection it provides.

It incorporates the other 4 security software programs for a slightly higher price so you won’t have to buy them individually. And with the recent rise in malware (malicious software) threats, it’s no real surprise that Internet security is now more popular than antivirus software.

And the rise in the popularity of antispyware software is no major surprise too. Spyware has now become the biggest threat  online and only the best spyware removal software is needed to stop this threat.

So Kaspersky is the favourite antivirus software program again. BitDefender is second once again with about half the votes of Kaspersky.

From our antivirus tests carried out in 2010, Kaspersky took the number one spot for malware detection and removal. And it was most effective at overall protection. And we are glad to see that the results of the poll confirm Kaspersky is the best antivirus program.

BitDefender is our number one choice for internet security protection and number 2 for antivirus protection. And the poll result confirms this too.
