What is a Backdoor Virus?

A backdoor virus is a Trojan which enables access by remote hackers to a computer without the consent of the user. It creates a back
door that can be used by hackers to access and hack the information and
settings of your computer.
Once this malicious software enters your computer, it will gradually turn your computer over to the hackers.
Like other viruses, the backdoor virus also has the tendency to self replicate into a large
number. The most common and known files that are considered to carry this
malware are; aim95.exe, winupdate32.exe, and iexplore.exe.

Instructions to Remove Backdoor Virus

All Trojans and malware threats are unique in nature and require different removal tactics. For the removal of a back door virus
from the computer system you can adopt the following simple steps;

  • If you do not have pre installed antivirus
application, download FREE Kaspersky Antivirus and install onto your computer.
If you have decided to purchase an antivirus application, first of all go
through reviews about it. The reviews will help you in making the decision. If
you do not want to purchase there are number of antivirus applications that are
    available free like Kaspersky.
  • Install the latest available updates
definitions, if in case you have just downloaded and installed antivirus it
would include latest updates. However if you already have antivirus installed in
the computer then before scanning you should update it by connecting to the
    internet.
  • After updating the antivirus software,
disconnect your computer from internet connection by unplugging the cable. This
is essential because some times, backdoor viruses resist to be uninstalled if a
system is connected to the internet. But if it is disconnected these Trojans
will be helpless and antivirus applications can easily uninstall them from your
    computer.
  • Reboot your computer into safe mood and turn
off the option of ‘System Restore’, now run a full scan of your computer and
wait for the results of scanning. The scanner will detect all the unwanted
malwares and Trojans and show you a list of all malicious programs. After scanning
antivirus will recommend you to either delete these files or quarantine them.
  • Turn on the ‘System restore’ again and run it
to create a restore point. To create a restore point navigate to ‘Start’ button
and then click on ‘Accessories’ and go to ‘System Tools’ , click ‘System
Restore’, check the option ‘Create  Restore
Point’ name your restore point and click ‘Next’.

The development of different means of data transfer from one computer to another has increased the chances of viral attacks.
A USB drive is a major advancement in the field of data transfer but it can be a means of transferring viral or malware infected
files from one computer to another.
Once you insert a viral effected USB drive into your computer and open it, you will actually facilitate a viral attack to
your computer.

Steps to Remove a USB Virus

To secure your computer from a USB virus attack along with securing of data and information stored in the computer you
need to ensure that viruses are not transferred to your computer via USB drives.

Autorun.inf, ravmon.exe, svchost.exe, new folder.exe, heap41a or other suspicious exe files.

  • If above mentioned files are
observed in the command window, it is obvious that the USB drive is infected
and needed to be treated. Now you need to delete these ‘exe’ files to free your
    drive from viruses.
  • To delete the viral exe files open
